Yellofox, from The Hague, makes what they call "New Folk": music that starts intimate and vulnerable, then unfolds effortlessly into catchy, groovy songs wrapped in rich, modern production. With cello, mandolin, piano, pedal steel, upright bass, guitars, and violin, the band builds lush soundscapes reminiscent of Wilco, Watchhouse, and Great Lake Swimmers, but with a West Coast sheen that's unmistakably their own.

Their previous album, For the Dreamers, was described by the press as "an ode to melancholic dreamers, naive idealists, and loving bon vivants." Their new album arrives with the telling title: The Secret of Being Kind, out October 30, 2026. Recorded with producer Martijn Groeneveld (Blaudzun, Tangarine), the album builds on the familiar Yellofox sound but goes further than ever, joined by guest musicians including pianist Paul Bond, Janos Koolen, marimba player Murk Jiskoot of the Residentie Orkest, and pedal steel specialist and luthier Peter de Smet.

Five years of razor sharp live shows, from intimate venues to major festivals, have earned the band a steadily growing following, with career highlights including a US tour with The Folk Alliance in New Orleans and performances at the Bluegrass Festival in La Roche, France. Onstage, they're natural storytellers, disarmingly funny, all while holding onto a raw seventies rock 'n' roll attitude that makes every show an experience in its own right.
